to you something that makes you weep
because it touched something
deep inside that you forgot was there?
that you tried to forget was there?
like when water hits the skillet
and those molecules burst
because nothing is ever lost
because it can’t be destroyed
because you can take a pick-axe to it
but it just shape-shifts into something new,
something smaller,
something more manageable
until someone comes along
who can take those pieces
and make you feel whole again,
until someone can appreciate where things snapped,
can appreciate those lines and creases,
someone who knows how to break you
but doesn’t.
